Loved my time with my daughter at Apple Hill Farm, the place of our annual apple picking and photos!
Oh, how I wish fall was 6 months long! The beautiful weather, the breathtaking colors, the fall baking, pumpkin carving and apple picking!
I made one of their recipes from their site, Easy Crock Pot Apple Cider Stew. I call it Autumn Stew, it was delicious.
The apple picking season is coming to an end soon, so head to Apple Hill Farm to pick your own! If you don’t make it in time to pick your own apples, you can certainly visit their on site store and buy a bag of apples. I’m sure as you walk in and smell all the baked apple breads, donuts and pies, you’ll be buying some baked goods as well.
The farm is open from 8:30-5:30 daily up until the day before Thanksgiving! They also have gourds, pumpkins, cornstalks and many more of our fall necessities.
If you’d like my apple pie bar recipe, I have one very close to this Land O Lakes recipe HERE. I double my crust as I like my crust thinker, but I only use 2 sticks of butter all together for the crust. It’s so good and flaky. I always use 10 apples in this recipe. I’ve also made this as a pie and it actually won 3 pie contests! Make a batch for the weekend and make another batch and freeze it for Thanksgiving! Your family is going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these!
