Behavior Reward Charts

A little incentive goes a very long way in my house.  Like most, my children are not thrilled when I say it’s clean up time.  We’ve been working hard on doing our chores without complaining or arguing.  Of course, some days are more successful than others.  So we decided to motivate the kids to do their chores quickly and kindly by using Chuck E. Cheese Rewards Calendars.  My kids get to put a check mark on each calendar day that they clean the playroom, their rooms and make their beds without fussing.  When they fill up their chart they can redeem it at Chuck E. Cheese for 10 FREE tokens.  (The charts fill up every two weeks so we’ve been having the kids fill out multiple charts prior to earning their trip.)

I have tried a lot of different types of rewards charts with the kids and find that these Chuck E Cheese charts are one of the most successful.  Apparently few things speak as loudly and clearly to my children as Chuck E. Cheese tokens.  The Catch: the fine print does say that in order to redeem the chart for your free tokens you must make a food purchase.  So, when we make that big reward trip I go prepared with Chuck E. Cheese coupons (which you can find online) and the rewards charts.  The pride the kids have when they are given their own little cup of tokens is adorable and priceless!
