Barnes and Noble Bookfair to Benefit the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth

Barnes and Noble Stores throughout Southern New Hampshire are hosting a bookfair on Saturday, April 13th to benefit the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD)!  Book donations and a portion of all book sales will  go towards the Manchester Reach Out and Read Program at CHaD.

As part of the book fair, participating Barnes and Nobles will host FREE family-friendly events throughout the day to include book signings, book readings, arts and crafts and teddy bear clinics, where children will be able to bring their bears for a free check up with a CHaD pediatrician (cute!).

“Reach Out and Read is a national program that partners with physicians, families, and early childhood educators. Reach Out and Read clinicians give books to children as gifts for their home libraries, advise parents on the importance of reading aloud, and provide them with literacy strategies for all developmental stages. The program not only promotes literacy during early childhood, but also serves as a distraction to sick or injured children who regularly require critical services at CHaD. Instead of fearing tests, needle-sticks and doctor’s appointments, young patients look forward to their well-child visits.”

To participate in the book fair you can visit a participating Barnes and Noble Store (see this link for participating stores) or shop online at  www.barnesandnoble.com and enter the Bookfair ID 11056314 at checkout on April 13th.
