New Year’s Eve for Kids!

Today is a great day to visit one of the local Children’s Museums.  Both the Boston Children’s Museum and the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire are open today and have countdowns until the New Year for the kids to participate in.  What a fun way to get the kids involved in celebrating the New Year!  Be sure to visit their websites for hours of operation and details on the countdowns will take place.  Have fun this New Year’s Eve!

Update: I wanted to let you know that I took my own advice, packed the kids up in the car and went to the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire this morning for their New Year’s Eve celebration.  Our whole family had a wonderful time playing in and exploring the many different exhibits in the museum.  However, the best part (according to my children) was watching the museum’s sparkly silver ball drop from the ceiling!  Three times throughout the day the museum dropped a large silver ball from the ceiling as part of their countdown to the New Year.  Each time, a few minutes prior to the ball dropping, Children’s Museum employees walked around the museum handing out “sparkling” sugar-free ginger ale in plastic champagne glasses (it was a very cute touch)!  Additionally, as we first walked into the museum the children were handed noise makers in preparation for the big ball dropping event.  My kids loved having their very own countdown to 2013 complete with confetti falling from the ceiling!  All in all it was a wonderful day and a great way to celebrate New Year’s with the children.

Sparkling ginger ale and a festive noise maker!
