Story Land

I absolutely love Story Land!  This place is is must-do for families with children young children.  Story Land is a themed amusement park filled with rides, play areas, shows and characters.  It is located in Glen, NH and is nestled on the perimeter of the White Mountain National Forest.  Story Land’s location paired with its attractions make it both picturesque and awesomely fun.

Admission Price: General Admission is $30.99.  Season Passes are available for $74.99 per person.  If purchased now through the end of the 2014 Season, Season Passes will be valid for the remainder of the 2014 and the 2015 Seasons.  Perks of the Season Pass include: One Jr. Lift Ticket to Cranmore Mountain Ski Resort, Sister Park Discounts (Valid at Water Country and Lake Compounce), and one Bring a Buddy Discount (Bring a friend for the discounted rate of $17.99 any one day in the current season).

Rides: Story Land has over 20 rides for families to enjoy.  My absolute favorite was Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach.  The minute we saw Cidnerella’s Coach my girls were thrilled.  We were able to ride her coach all the way up to her beautiful Palace.  Once at the Palace, Cinderella was waiting for us and available for a meet and greet.  This was the highlight of the trip for my little girls.

My boys’ (husband included) favorites were the new Roar-O-Saurus Roller Coaster and the Bucaneer Pirate Ship.  Both rides are uniquely different tons of fun!

Our family doesn’t usually purchase the pictures taken on rides because, simply, they’re too expensive.  Well, we made an exception for this picture.  The looks on my girls’ faces are priceless…especially when compared to hubby’s huge smile!  After getting off of the ride, my blonde (whose hair is sticking straight up!) said “I’m SO glad that is over!  Can we do it again?” Despite her look of terror it appears as if she enjoyed the ride.  Many thanks to the very nice woman who sat next to my oldest daughter and held her hand during the ride.  🙂

Shows: There are several shows that take place in the park throughout the day to include Duke’s Dance Party, Farm Follies Stage Show, It’s Magic, A Storybook Adventure and the Funsation Celebration.  You can find exact times and locations of all shows at Guest Services.

Character Appearances: You never know who you’ll find having fun at Story Land.  The park has regularly scheduled Character Appearances throughout the day.  Several Character roam throughout the park for a total of five daily appearances.  Guest Services can provide details on these character appearances.  For an additional fee you can also book Tea Time with Cinderella in her Tea Room and/or a Cinderella and Friends Character Dinner.  Reservations for both of these should be made in advance.  We did not do either of these.  That said, we passed Cinderella’s Tea Room during her Tea Party and my girls were begging to go in.

Play Areas: Play Areas are located throughout the park.  I am the one who usually minds the little kids while my husband takes the older kids on the rides.  As such, I am very appreciative of all of the Play Areas located throughout Story Land.  My favorite play areas were the Bucaneer Pirate Ship Play Area, complete with a pirate ship the kids could climb on and water shooting cannons; the Dino Dig Play Area where kids could unearth some neat fossils; and the small frozen play spot located at the Polar Coaster which had an Igloo that kids could explore.  These spots are great for little kids waiting for older siblings.  They are also fun for the big kids too!

Games: There are games located throughout the park.  For an extra price kids and adults can play the games for a chance to win a prize.

Food: Story Land has many food, drink and snack options located in the park.  The food was priced average to other local attractions.  Below you will find your different dining and snack options while at Story Land.  You also have the option of purchasing a 28 oz Souvenir Cup with free Fountain refills.  Our family purchased a cup and drank our net weight in Lemonade during our visit.  🙂
