Pumpkins AGLOW at Edaville USA

My children and I went to Edaville USA for their Pumpkins Aglow event this past Sunday and it was such a nice Halloween treat.  The whole park, to include Dinoland, is lit up with Jack-O-Lanterns.  There were several patches of jack-o-lanterns throughout the park that were themed to include a New England Sports theme, a Pirate theme, a Frozen theme and much more!  We loved walking around and seeing all of the different pumpkin carvings.

Kids are encouraged to come in costume to Pumpkins Aglow and to trick-or-treat at the various rides throughout the park.  There are also costume parades for the children where they receive a little prize for participating.

My absolute favorite part of the evening was the giant talking pumpkin that sat at the entrance to Dinoland.  At times our giant pumpkin friend seemed to be pre-recorded and pre-scripted.  At other times, however, he was “live” and interacted with visitors passing by.  This was an absolute hoot and my kids wanted to keep going back to visit thepumpkin.  After all, it’s not every day that you meet a giant talking pumpkin!

Please be aware that Edaville does have a few spookier characters walking around the park during Pumpkin Aglow and some of the dinos are just a touch gory.  The characters that frightened my four year old were Frankenstein and the Werewolf.  I want to note that these characters seemed very sensitive to and aware of children that would be frightened by them.  They tried to keep their distance to avoid scaring the younger crowd.  Additionally, nothing that I saw was over the top scary or gory.  I think that little kids might be apprehensive about the characters but that they would have no trouble with the rest of Pumpkins Aglow.  That said, if you think that your child might be frightened please give Edaville a call before visiting.  They will be able to give you an accurate representation of the planned night and then you can determine if it is appropriate for your child.
