The MIT Museum Celebrates National Engineering Week

During the Massachusetts school vacation week the MIT Museum will be celebrating National Engineering Week with a series of hands-on engineering challenges, workshops, and demonstrations by MIT students, local companies and more.  These programs will begin on February 18th and culminate with a special presentation “So You Want to be an Engineer?” on February 23rd.  Please see the Museum’s website for additional information.

  • Drop In Activities will run from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, engage in an engineering activity optimized for family collaboration!  Activities include chain reactions (Monday), paper skyscrapers (Tuesday), gumdrop domes (Wednesday), boat design (Thursday), and newspaper bridges (Friday).
  • Workshops: Two-hour workshops are available Monday through Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., for middle and high school students. Topics include robotics, structural engineering, boat design, nanotechnology, physics photography, and holography. See the registration page for additional details and pricing.
  • Demonstrations: From 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on select days throughout the week, see demonstrations by students and MIT spin-off companies.

General Admission to the MIT Museum is $8.50 for Adults and $4.00 for those 18 and under.
