Our New Hampshire Community

Dear Southern New Hampshire Friends,

We truly have a fantastic community here in New Hampshire.  I have witnessed neighbors, friends and family rally together to support each other over the past three years.  Whether it’s providing meals to a new mother, sorting items in a food pantry or coming together to console the grieving, I constantly see neighbors and friends going out of their way to help.  Every single one of these people has their own families, responsibilities and hardships.  It would be very easy and understandable for them to say that they don’t have the time or the resources to help.  What I find most striking is that this isn’t just a select few – this is a community that helps and sacrifices for one another.

My family has recently been the recipient of so much kindness and compassion from our community because of some medical issues that we are dealing with.  I can’t even begin to express my gratitude.  I have been absolutely blown away by the love and support of neighbors and friends.  I will never be able to thank you enough.  From the moment we moved here we were warmly welcomed.  Since then, the warmth of our community has never dissipated but only seems to increase as our circle of friends and neighbors grows.

So, while I realize that this post is off-topic, I really wanted to share how great of a community we have here.  I am so grateful that my children are growing up in an area where they not only know their neighbors and friends’ parents…but they can say that they are friends with the local florist, the wonderful folks that work at the deli (who always give them a piece of free cheese), our kind priests and religious community, our UPS delivery man (who is one of the nicest people) and the list could literally go on and on.  In my opinion, the heart of a community is in its people and the love and compassion that they express towards one another.  And the heart of our New Hampshire community is very big and strong.  I can’t think of a better place to live and to raise a family.
