Santa’s Big Party at Charmingfare Farm

My family and I went to Santa’s Big Party at Charmingfare Farm late last November and it was a blast!  From the moment we pulled into the farm and Santa’s Elves directed us to a parking spot my children were giddy.  Our Sunday outing was a big surprise to our children but as soon as they saw Santa’s elves they figured out that they were going to get to see the big guy himself….oh the excitement!

Once we bundled all the kiddos up we headed into Charmingfare Farm’s adorable gift shop to check-in and get some animal food and the ingredients to make S’mores (yum!).  My children then ran to the spot where we would meet our ride to go see Santa.  A horse-drawn wagon took us on a 30 minute ride to Santa’s secret party location.  While the excitement to see Santa was palpable, the ride to the party was a hit in and of itself.  We saw coyotes, bears, horses and the farm’s beautiful land.

When we finally arrived at the secret location of Santa’s Big Party we were greeted by Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty, Rudolph, the Gingerbread Man, a Penguin and the Grinch, along with some hot chocolate and cookies.  My son immediately wanted to have his personal meet and greet with Santa and each of his friends.  Santa and all of his Winter Wonderland friends were very gracious.  They posed for pictures, gave out hugs, danced with the kids and most importantly gave each child at the party personalized attention.  They are a great bunch!

After spending some time with the characters my kids moved onto cookies, hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows for their S’mores.  There were two big bonfires at Santa’s Party that were great for making S’mores and for keeping warm while enjoying our treats.  The kids were very proud about roasting their own marshmallows.

After we filled up on treats we boarded a Tractor Train that took us on a short ride past Santa’s reindeer and then back to where we started.  Before packing up, my crew visited the farm’s animals in their Oakhurst Animal Discovery Barn.  The animals were adorable and the kids loved feeding them.

My family loved our morning at Charmingfare Farm and I would absolutely recommend Santa’s Big Party.  The farm is beautiful, their staff is friendly and Santa was fantastic.  Tickets can be purchase at up to a 44% discount at Couptopia.

A few tips for planning your trip:

  • Dress Warm!  I definitely overdressed my kids (and heard about it!) but they weren’t cold because of all of that bundling.
  • Plan on spending a few extra dollars at Charmingfare.  In 2013, bags of feed were $4 each.  One bag of feed was easily shared by four children (with some to spare).  Also, in 2013 S’mores packages were $5 each.  Each pack made 4 S’mores.
