Puddle Jumping

When life gives you a rainy day, play in the puddles!

It was a rainy New Hampshire day but that didn’t stop us from having some backyard fun.  The kids (and even I) did a little puddle jumping, wading and splashing.  The result was a few pairs of very soggy feet…but it was worth it!

A few other ideas for puddles:

  • Draw around the edge of a puddle and observe how quickly it evaporates.  You can continue to draw around the puddle every so often and document your shrinking puddle.
  • Skip and sink stones in your puddle!  What kid doesn’t love to throw rocks and make a splash 🙂
  • Sprinkle a little crushed chalk or powdered tempera paint in your puddle and watch it change colors!
