Escape the Cold at an Indoor Water Park

The lingering cold temperatures and snow are making me impatient for spring’s arrival!  My kids and I are certainly ready for warmer days, playing at the local parks, riding bikes and all of the rest of that outdoor fun that spring allows for.   That said, since I unfortunately cannot make the mild weather get here any faster, I will instead recommend two local places that will help get you into that spring and summer state of mind (even if it will be only for a few hours).

Did you know that we have two indoor water parks in our area?  Coco Key Water Park in Danvers, MA and Kahuna Laguna in North Conway, NH both offer families the opportunity to escape the winter doldrums for a day.  I haven’t been to either park yet but am hoping to make it to one (or both!) of them sooner than later.  Imagine relaxing in 80 degree weather while the kids have fun (and burn off some energy) in the pools and on the water slides.  Admittedly, admission to the water parks is not cheap, however both parks do offer discounts and specials to help defray some of the cost.  Some of Coco Key Water Park’s deals include Coco Cares Sundays where Grandparents receive free admission, buy one get one free admission on Thursday afternoons and discounted ticket prices when you buy a Family Four Pack.   There is also a deal on admission to Coco Key Water Park currently offered by Living Social.  Kahuna Laguna in combination with Red Jacket Resort also offers several specials and packages.

A visit to the water park is certainly no substitution for that beautiful spring weather that we’re hoping for but at least it will get you into a bathing suit and some tropical temperatures for a few hours!
