On Saturday, June 14th Toys R Us will host another FREE LEGO building event. Visit your local Toys R Us between 12:00pm-2:00pm to join The LEGO Movie building event and build your own “Master Builder” inspired by Metalbeard!
I’ve taken my kids to the past few LEGO Building events hosted by Toys R Us and I recommend checking them out. I like these events mainly because my kids each get to build a LEGO creation and take it home for FREE!
In the past, Toys R Us has reserved a section of their store for this event. They have a table set up with the LEGOs you need and instructions. Once you collect all of the necessary LEGO bricks you can begin building. The LEGO projects are not huge but they are, in my opinion, the perfect size for a FREE afternoon activity. It usually takes me about 5-7 minutes to build the Toys R Us’ designated LEGO project and it has typically taken my children anywhere from 15-20 minutes.
I would recommend arriving to the event on the earlier side. Toys R Us’ most recent LEGO event was very popular and our store ran out of free kits after the first hour. To Toys R Us’ credit, they apologized profusely that they ran out of kits and provided a different LEGO kit for our family to assemble. This completely satisfied my children but I think we will try to arrive earlier the next time we attend a LEGO building event.
