Franklin Park and Stone Zoos offer an array of engaging educational programming. Whether geared toward toddlers in the Playful Paws Playgroups or adults and children alike at Breakfast with the Animals, there are a variety of opportunities available that will not only provide a fun and meaningful experience, but will deepen participants’ understanding of the natural world and the role we can all play in ensuring it remains a healthy, thriving environment for generations to come.
Playful Paws at Franklin Park Zoo
This playgroup is as much for caregivers as it is for “cubs.” Get out of the house and bring your little one to the Zoo for open play and animal exploration. At each class, participants will learn through looking, touching and movement. Possibilities are endless and may include storytimes, animal encounters, biofacts, simple crafts and more! If the weather’s nice, the group may even go for romps outside! Each monthly session features new animals and activities, so join us for as many as you can!
When: Every Wednesday in October, December, January and March, 10:15- 11:00 a.m.

Curious Cubs at Franklin Park Zoo
Curious Cubs is designed for tots who have outgrown the Playful Paws Playgroup (ages 3-4 years). Early explorations into the animal kingdom are a great way for kids to get hands-on with early science concepts and discover the wonders of the natural world. If the weather’s nice, the group might go for treks outside!
When: Every first Friday of the month, September – May, 10:15 – 11:00 a.m.
Location: The Meeting Barn at Franklin Park Zoo
Pricing: $8 for member children, $10 for non-member children. Sibling discount available.
Breakfast with the Animals at Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo
Enjoy a continental breakfast alongside Zoo educators and a few wild friends, like gorillas, gibbons, bears, red pandas and more! Registrants receive special early entry to the Zoo, a continental breakfast and time with Zoo staff to ask questions and talk about the animals.
When: Select dates available beginning in October. Programs run from 9:15-10:00 a.m.
Pricing: $10 per participant for members and $12 for non-members.
