Wacky science experiments are just part of the fun kids can have at the Children’s Museum of NH’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular on Saturday, October 25 from 10 am – 3 pm.

Dover, NH – Halloween is a favorite holiday of kids of all ages, but young ones may not be ready for haunted houses and creepy costumes. This is why the Children’s Museum of NH began hosting its annual Not-So-Spooky Spectacular more than 15 years ago. The museum’s family-oriented event is primarily focused on seasonal fun with a little bit of optional scariness for those are feeling brave.

This year’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is set for Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm inside the museum at 6 Washington Street in Dover.

The day’s activities for kids and families include:

  •  Taking a walking tour of the museum’s festively decorated ‘bat cave’ from 11 am – 3 pm
  • Experiencing amazing science experiments with the museum’s own Wacky Scientist at 11:30 am1:30 pm and 3:30 pm
  • Meeting Officer Travaglini of the Dover Police Department to learn important night-time safety tips at 11 am and 12 noon
  • Enjoying a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt around the museum and collecting stamps to receive an extra special prize
  • Trying on costumes donated by Ballet New England
  • Face painting and fun Halloween crafts

“With so many haunted houses, hayrides and other scary events happening during this season, we like to provide a fun alternative for families with young children,” explained Jane Bard, Director of Operations at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. “We mix traditional activities like dressing up in costume with engaging learning opportunities. Kids love to try experiments with our Wacky Scientist, and they’ll find all kinds of fascinating facts about bats when they visit our Bat Cave. We invite everyone to come in costume or try on some of the ones we have on hand.”

All Not-So-Spooky Spectacular festivities are included in regular paid admission ($9 for adults and children, no charge for children under 12 months old) and free for Children’s Museum of NH members.
