The kids and I went to Charmingfare Farm last week for our first CSA Pick-Up. Charmingfare Farm had an assortment of Head Lettuce (3 different kinds!), Zucchini, Rhubarb, and Strawberries ready for pick-up! This week the Farm is adding Kale to the mix which I’m very excited about.
Visiting Charmingfare Farm was wonderful last week and I expect that the kids and I will have a blast there this week as well. My children loved exploring the farm, visiting the animals and picking out their food. I have found that my children are more likely to eat fruits and vegetables if they are involved in the process of picking the food. They absolutely loved the strawberries from the farm last week and even ate the lettuce! I encourage those interested in becoming a crop shareholder to take a look at Charmingfare Farm.
Shareholders pick-up every Wednesday for 20 weeks from May 27th through October 7th. Charmingfare Farm picks ripe produce that morning and makes it available at their Farm Stand. Shareholders then fill their Garden Bags, choosing what they want and need. During Harvest Season, shareholders and any three guests may visit Charmingfare Farm’s animals during zoo hours. This is a lovely bonus especially for families who have animal/farm-loving children (like mine).
