Here I am with my own little Morton Salt girls and boy!

The Morton Salt Girl turned 100 this year and to celebrate we threw her a Birthday Party!  Because NH Kids is all about children and their families we wanted to celebrate the Morton Salt Girl with some family friendly recipes and activities.

We began our party with food!  We served Basil Garlic Pita Crisps with Hummus, Soft Baked Pretzels, Cheese Umbrellas, Popcorn and Lemonade.  The kids had a great time eating and sprinkling Morton Salt on some of their popcorn and soft pretzels!

Morton Salt was an essential ingredient in making all of our food a big hit.  You can find the recipes for all of our delicious treats by clicking on the links.  Below you will find pictures of some of my favorites!

Cheese Umbrellas (aren’t these cute?)

For Dessert we had cupcakes, Sea Salted Caramel Fudge Brownies (these were amazing) and Margaritas with a salted rim of course!  We also made some virgin Margaritas for my little friends and called them Morton Slushies.  I highly recommend making  a batch of Sea Salted Caramel Fudge Brownies.  They are delicious!

After eating the kids got crafty with Morton Salt.  We used colored chalk to make our salt different colors and then created some salt rainbows in jars!  The kids did a great job with the craft and their Salt Rainbows were beautiful.  You can see a full tutorial on how to create a Salt Rainbow in a Jar at Flax and Twine.

After making their Salt Rainbows the kids wanted to bring the leftover colored salt outside for play.  They did some sensory play with the salt in a tray for a while and then they got very creative.  The kids used the extra salt as “pixie dust” and ran around the yard with their magical dust, sprinkling the plants and toys.  They did this until they used the last speck of Morton Salt “pixie dust.”

Isn’t this a cute bunch of kids?  I asked them to look up and smile and they all did simultaneously!
